Epoxy coated NTC thermistor temperature sensor shown as a teardrop shaped bead with two radial leads. These types of NTC thermistor temperature sensors are often used in applications near humidity. Some of these applications include medical devices that measure airflow and air temperature. Epoxy bead thermistors are also frequently used in automotive applications to monitor and control air conditioning and seat heating in the passenger cabin.
Epoxy-coated thermistors are generally used at temperatures below 150°C.
